Who this Course is for
If you are leading a research group, then this course is for you. We will help you lead with clarity, confidence, and empathy to get innovative, reproducible science done.
Leading a group is a demanding role, and while your career has given you excellent technical and research skills, you may not have had the chance to learn how to lead. We will introduce you to models and tools from diverse fields of psychology, human behaviour, and the business world to help you identify and refine your own effective leadership and communication style, motivate your people, manage conflict, and lead your lab to success.
Style of this Course
In Person and Live Online, the course relies on your critical thinking and personal experience to learn and apply tools and models to your real leadership needs. The course is tailored specifically for the research environment and has been developed in consultation with the scientific community.
The course style emphasises discussion and interaction among participants, which also makes it a great opportunity to network with peers and to share the joys and frustrations of leading people and teams.
As part of your live training – to help you implement your new leadership approach over time – you will also receive 12 months of access to our Training Hub, which provides supporting course materials and guidance for implementing the frameworks and tools. This combination of live training and reference material makes the course compatible with busy research schedules.
